It’s that time of year again for Paleopalooza, the Academy’s annual festival featuring dinosaur fossil displays, paleo-illustration classes, engaging new live animal shows, and lots of fun family activities.
Academy scientists will be on hand to show off rarely displayed millons-of-years-old fossils collected in central Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Families can dig for real fossils to take home and get tips from Academy paleo-artist Jason Poole on how to draw a dinosaur.
Drexel University Professor Kenneth Lacovara will talk about his discovery of Dreadnoughtus schrani, represented by the most complete skeleton ever found of a supermassive animal.
Buddy the T-rex, from the popular TV show Dinosaur Train!, and the Academy’s own Eddie the T. rex will be roaming the museum throughout the weekend.
And there are a lot more activities. For a full list, visit our website.
Paleopalooza takes place Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 and 15 and is free with museum admission.
